16 APRIL - 17 MAY
VAN ABBEMUSEUM RADICALLY MINE!

In the Radically Mine! exhibition, young people create their own world. 350 pupils and students, 19 schools, 1 youth art project: in the seventeenth edition of Radically Mine!, young people from North Brabant drew inspiration from the collection of the Van Abbemuseum to create their own artworks. A selection of these works will be on display from 16 April 2026 in the exhibition Radically Mine!: (Y)ours to Make at Salon Veneman and Eindhoven City Hall. Through their work, these young artists take visitors on a journey into their imagination and express their place in the world.

(Y)ours to Make
The pupils and students taking part in the project are all aged between 14 and 21. They come from a wide range of educational backgrounds: VMBO, HAVO, VWO, gymnasium, special needs secondary education and MBO. “In addition to the theory they learn in the classroom, the museum helps them discover how they can help shape the world through art,” explains Glenda Pattipeilohy, Education and Public engagement Coordinator and organiser of Radically Mine!

This year’s theme is (Y)ours to Make. “The works created by these young people are expressive; they show us how they view society. They create their own world.” The Radically Mine! jury is currently visiting all participating schools to select 50 artworks to be presented in the exhibition.

A view of the world
With Radically Mine!, Pattipeilohy aims to empower young people: “Through the creative process, they are given the opportunity to express what is going on in their lives, whether consciously or unconsciously. It brings to light the issues that concern them.” More importantly, those issues deserve to be seen. Pattipeilohy adds: “The Radically Mine! exhibition literally gives young people’s perspectives a place in the public sphere. People look at them and listen to them; they surprise visitors with their view of the world. Through their artworks, they add a voice to the story of the Van Abbemuseum.”

Opening 16 April 2026 and award
Due to the renovation of the Van Abbemuseum’s Collection Building, his year’s edition of Radically Mine! will take place at Salon Veneman, Tongelresestraat 1, Eindhoven. The exhibition will open festively on Thursday 16 April. At 1 pm, pupils, students and guests will gather at the Van Abbemuseum’s Old Building, after which the opening will continue at 2 pm at Salon Veneman. There, a jury will also present the Radically Mine! Award, the annual incentive prize for a promising talent.

Kunstbende and City Hall
The Van Abbemuseum is committed to offering young people the opportunity to develop their talents, also after the Radically Mine! programme has ended. To this end, the museum joins forces with Kunstbende Noord-Brabant, the leading national competition for young creative talent. Ten promising participants will receive a wildcard granting them direct entry to the regional final on 12 April 2026. Afterwards, a selection of artworks will be displayed at Eindhoven City Hall, where they will be on view from 26 May to 12 June 2026.

A coming-of-age anniversary
For seventeen years, the school project Radically Mine! has been a fixture in the Van Abbemuseum’s programme. Every year, a growing number of schools and young people take part. Pattipeilohy says: “In 2027, Radically Mine! will turn eighteen and will thus officially come of age—a milestone. I would like to celebrate this special anniversary with former participants who share their stories about the creative and artistic paths they have taken since participating.” Former participants who wish to contribute to the anniversary edition are invited to contact the Van Abbemuseum.
